PageLime iPhone App Sneak Peak

pagelime-iphone-app

Pssst… take a quick look at one of the things that’s been keeping us busy over the past few months: PageLime Touch.

Yes! It’s the rumored and long awaited PageLime iPhone app. On the preview site linked below, you can watch a video showcasing some of the user experience and functionality. Just like our web-app, this version of PageLime will be fully brandable for our Professional users.

Check it out, get excited, and let us know what you think:

  1. Looks great. Interested to see how you manage to keep an iPhone app private label as well.

  2. Emil says:

    Thanks James,

We’ll likely do two things to allow pro users to white-label the app: We will release the app into the app store under a generic company name, and we will provide the pro users the .app file code so that they can submit it into the app store themselves (though in order to do this, you would have to buy into the apple developer program, which has a price of about $300 or so if I understand correctly).

Either way, we’ll find a way to release a version of the app that is isolated from the PageLime brand.

Awesome! This is one of the reasons I switched to PageLime from CushyCMS. Can’t wait to get my hands on it and try it out. Glad you’ve kept the design simple.

  4. Adrian Borkala says:

As much as I’d love to release my own iPhone app for the CMS, I worry that if you release the software to us to submit ourselves to the app store, we could flood the store with a bunch of apps that basically all do exactly the same thing. I think I prefer the idea of a generic app that brands based on the users login details, or as part of the set up they indicate who their designer is, or the web address that they normally use and based on this, the app is then branded for all future use.

Very excited about this being released now. Any news on dates yet or possibility of beta testing?

    Hi,

Is there going to be an Android app for this??

    Cheers

  6. Emil says:

    Yes, eventually :).

  7. Steinar says:

I like this! A lot of clients would really appreciate that “little extra” when it comes to their exquisit iPhones.

My thoughts are a bit hovering about this whole “Submit to AppStore” process.
I know you can install to your iPhone through iTunes (local .app files) - How about offering YOUR .app file with a “Config-app” that will create the custombranded app file, then we can offer these to our customers as part of a web cms and just e-mail them or install the app for them.

Let us take care of how to get the app on to the iPhone, but make it easy to configure (logo, branding, options, login screen options, languages, default lang. etc).

If you do this I’m on to the Business plan right away!

(PS: Android too would be very much appreciated, I’m on a HTC Hero myself.)

  8. Ryan Leisure says:

Any progress on the app, guys? This is going to rock, and now that I actually have an iphone I’m even more excited about it, haha!

  9. Emil says:

Tom’s testing it… always :). We had to cut out some features to rush this out, but it should be close to ready.

  10. What a bout that blog module? Are you working on that as well? Thats like the only thing missing for me and my clients!
